FLAT ABS

I just finished up a one-on-one! It was great but she was doing her abs incorrectly. I just wanted to remind everyone to think about your tummies pulling in toward your spine as you go up in a crunch. No Loaf! Flat tummies! You will love the results!

Quick tip: As you do your ab work, if you are having a hard time keeping your tummies flat, put one hand on your tummy to remind yourself not to “loaf” up. This really helps you to train the correct muscles for that flat tummy look. You will definitely be able to see and feel the difference!

PROPER LUNGE

During my classes and one-on-ones I have noticed that even though lunges are a very common exercise, they are often performed incorrectly.

Quick tip: Lunges are great to help lift your bottom and work your quads. Make sure you follow the rule of 90’s. At the base of the lunge, your front and back knees should be at a 90 degree angles with your legs. To achieve this make sure your stance is wide enough. A common mistake is to not take a wide enough position when performing the lunge especially if you have long legs. Also make sure that the front knee does not go beyond your toes.

BALLET SQUATS

What is the quickest way get to sexy thighs and a tight tush ……… THE BALLET SQUAT of course!

Quick tip: Ballet Squats tone and tighten the inner thighs and bottom. As you do the squat you should feel like you have a straight line running from the top of your head to the base of your spine. When you go down into the base of your squat do not bend forward, keep pristine posture. As you come up squeeze your inner thighs your bottom until you reach the top. The squat should be done slowly so that you can identify and feel each muscle group being worked. Cheers to great legs and bums!
